By eliminating distractions you can focus on what is truly important. Learning how to prioritize and taking a proactive approach to ensure there is alignment, will enable you to put your energy where it matters most. Here are 3 ways to proactively re-prioritize your life now:

  1. Contextualize things. It can be tempting to just get things done to feel productive, but is helpful to take a step back every now and then and rank things in order of importance, so you can move down the list with confidence, knowing your time is being spent on the most important things first.

  2. Gain perspective. It is human nature to assume the worst, but as history shows, the worse case scenario is rarely the outcome. It is important to be prepared, but once you make a decision, move forward confidently.

  3. Consider the bigger picture. With the first two steps complete you should have a better idea of the things you need to prfioritize and what things you can let go. Once the decision is firm, it is important to communicate it to everyone impacted in a respectful manner.
