Q&A
Why did you get into coaching? This was a purpose calling for me. I love being of service to those who need to be heard and would like to break limiting barriers in their lives (professional and personal). The world has become so busy that no one has time to listen to the silent cries of their loved ones and those close to them. I am ready and able to listen and assist in breaking the walls that have you limited into a life you are not fully happy with.
What is your philosophy/style/approach? As different as we all may appear to be, we also have like minded thoughts, ideas, challenges and everything that feeds into helping us reaching a greater life than the one we are currently living. I approach everyone with my practical experiences and lessons that I trust will help my clients into looking deeper into themselves on what is causing confusion and disruptions and offer methods on how to break the chains that limit your greater self from coming to the conscious being
What book had the biggest change in your life and what did you learn from it? The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari - That often the material life that we chase takes more out of our livelihood and purpose of being to the point of losing ourselves in the race of life without having properly lived it. We often sacrifice time to ourselves and our loved ones thinking we are creating the best life for them, not being aware their best life is when we are available to them and putting more effort in living life rather than just merely existing for a bigger bank balance.
Describe your biggest failure and what you learnt from it. My marriage. It was life changing part of my life and it taught a lot . One of the biggest lessons being that nothing is ever fully promised. And that security is taken for granted to the point that we take fro granted the work and efforts we need to put into the things that matter the most to us and that we hold dear. The only security really, is our reactions to the things that are outside of our control and that we never expected to experience.
Describe your biggest success and how you achieved it. Answering to my calling as a Life Coach and Motivational Speaker. I get fulfilled by being a positive change in someone's life and the achievement to this purpose was long and challenging and often confusing. It took me recollecting my life and understanding where I has learnt what I today believe to be true about my values and principles. It also required understanding the part that I played in any of my failures and forgiving myself and learning from them.
What’s one piece of advice you think everyone should follow? There is always more to you than the limitations you put on yourself the limits put on you by others. Never live a trophy life.
How do you handle stress? I find listening to music and reading books and listening to either motivational clips and spiritual clips helps calm me done. I also find either having a consultation/conversation with myself helps in handling stress.
How do you prioritise and manage your time? I try as much as possible to prioritize my family time before anything. I do what I do for them and that does not excuse not making time for them. I have recently started writing things down in diary form or recording myself to help manage my time. I also learnt that no amount of anxiety is going to change anything that is going to happen so I work on what I can do today. That helps me manage todays tasks for tomorrow.
How do you stay healthy? I try to drink as much water as possible. Green tea with honey. Cutting down on sugar. And because health is not only physical, I watch what I absorb on the mental part of me by means of what or who I listen to. And in my listening, I dissect what I can learn, what I can challenge, what is of interest to me and let go of what is of no use to me.
What does happiness mean to you? Leaving a purposeful life and understanding that not everyday will be a good day but that does not go to say that it is the end of your days. As much as happiness may be described as an emotion, it is also a psychological part of your life. And your thoughts lead to what you find to be a state of happiness according to you.
What does success look like to you? I will not shy away from mentioning financial stability being one form of success. This part of ones life plays a big role with regards to what one perceives as a successful life however, it is not limited or dependent on this. Time freedom is also a big part of what I find to be successful. Time is of great value, more than what we give it credit for and the more appreciate it and treat it with respect, the success will show itself in our lives
Describe your future self. I will be impacting lives for positive change and zest for living. I have always been a family man and so I never travel this journey alone. I travel and address everyone with my family by my side, that is until they decide to go their paths. I am a person of great value and so future me will have and will still be imparting my knowledge to those who need it. My service to the people is bigger than me and for that, I will remain humbled
What are some of your core beliefs/guiding principles? God brought me into this earth for a great purpose. My beliefs may not always be in line with everyone else's belief systems or understanding however, that is not to say my beliefs cannot help you to greater explore your own beliefs. I look to God to guide my steps because I have learnt my own direction has brought with it more questions than answers. Although I speak on you deciding your own path, that does not mean to say you need not walk it without the help of a greater power.
Describe the best transformation you witnessed in someone. I helped a lady to re-evaluate her relationship with her partner. She was at a point of calling it quits and after having sessions with me, she started to see her partner and her relationship in a different light. I would like to give the details of how our conversations and her conversion went however, I can only share the results. They are now happily engaged with a daughter and she has constantly mentioned how I helped her and her spouse to be committed to their relationship.
